About

Matt Hodd grew up in the wilds of Northeast Scotland, originating there in 1975. It is not known whether living on the windy moors of Middlemuir Croft in the Grampian highlands affected his development, although the idea of having to dig oneself out of snowdrift might be considered quite romantic to some. Nowadays he lives near Killarney in Southwest Ireland, which could be considered quite like Scotland both in aspect and weather.

Through all his years of studying archaeology at college and beyond, Matt had been steadily writing poems, short stories and accumulating a wide-ranging knowledge of music, philosophy, spirituality and nature. Thanks to the financial support of the South Kerry Partnership he was able to give his dream of being a full-time writer a shot. By the way, Matt also enjoys musical activities in the form of doing Samba and African drumming, Salsa dancing and a little bit of deejaying for fun. Oh, and if you’re lucky he might just sing you a song on his guitar!
