A Walk At Sundown

Feeling inspired to be

Crunching across the moor,

Beams streaking the blue span sky

Reaching out over the sea

Amid hazy peninsulas,

Fading into dusk

Marshmallow coloured landscape

Gentle stillness.

Animals growl aware of fast-approaching night

The air is breathable but warm,

Red-brown hues tread softly across briars

Dark tarmac by contrast never shines

Except when shimmering in blazing heat.

Landscape though is ever changing

Altered yet never exactly restored by time,

Shifting back to the present

Free to wander with my mind:

Under the tranquil twilight of autumnal shades.
